Our Story
Our Vision
The entire Bay of Fires team is focused on one singular passion – sharing Tasmania's best wines with you. A variety of vineyards and varieties are chosen based on the search for unique personalities.
With consistency and quality in mind, the team crafts alluring Tasmanian wines. The wines are produced from hand-picked Tasmanian fruit, specially selected for quality and character. Each fruit parcel is kept separate so its unique essence can be captured at just the right time.
After that, the fruit is allowed to let nature work its magic in the finest oak available. The alchemy of this winemaking practice is evident in every bottle.
Our Philosphy
Bay of Fires' philosophy, in the vineyard and in the winery, is to ensure the varietal characteristics of our Tasmanian fruit are revealed, preserved and celebrated in every wine we create for you.
Viticulture
Extraordinary challenges bring exceptional results. It's no easy task growing vines in Tasmania – it requires lots of passion, hard work, commitment and knowledge. But when vineyards are nurtured with these four qualities, the result is truly remarkable fruit and the Bay of Fires wine range.
Just like the sub-regions of our island state, every vineyard has a unique and distinctive character forged out of its soil, its climate and, of course, its careful management.
Winemaking
Acidity balances sweetness to create delicate Rieslings. Our Chardonnays achieve harmony of mouthfeel and fruit flavour. And, of course, the trickiest grape of them all, Pinot Noir, amplifies its terroir beautifully and is delivered in a wine of superb complexity, structure and romance.
The team strives to echo Tasmania's terroir and essence. It's winemaking on the edge, but in the face of such challenges the rewards speak for themselves.

OUR TEAM
Our Growers
Drawn from all over Tasmania's distinctive sub-regions, the Bay of Fires team works with our growers to produce the finest fruit possible - full of character and distinction.
Growing premium grapes in Tasmania can be tough. That's why, every year, we thank our growers with a special tasting day at the winery. This is where they experience first hand how the fruits of their labour create our premium wines. We raise our glasses to their extraordinary efforts
